| Saint Francis Day Celebration Hermit crabs, cockatiels, white mice, rabbis, cats and dogs came to the pet blessing at Sacred Heart on October 4th, the day set aside to remember Saint Francis of Assisi. Saint Francis is known around the world as a holy man devoted to the service of God and his people. Saint Francis is particularly known for his example of simplicity, and love of God’s creatures. The blessing of pets is an honored tradition at Sacred Heart where Father Dunn takes special care to bless all present and assures young pet owners of God’s care for their animals at home, if they are unable to be present. |
